Murrieta's Fall & Winter Event Calendar: What's On This Season

Murrieta runs a busy community event calendar through the fall and winter, and most of it is free and family-friendly. If you are thinking about living here, the schedule is a useful window into how the city comes together.

This guide lists the confirmed fall and winter events for 2026 with the dates the City of Murrieta has published. Event details can change, so it is always worth a quick check of the City's official calendar before you head out.

Murrieta Market Nights

Market Nights is the city's recurring evening street market in Historic Downtown Murrieta at Washington Avenue and Juniper Street. It runs on the first and third Thursday of each month from 5 to 9 PM, with local vendors, food, artisans, music and activities.

The next fall and winter dates follow the usual pattern: Thursday, November 5; Thursday, November 19; Thursday, December 3; and Thursday, December 17. It is one of the easiest ways to get a feel for the downtown area, and the Market Nights site posts the latest lineups.

Dark in the Park (Halloween)

The City's family Halloween event, Dark in the Park, is scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2026 from 5:30 to 8 PM at Town Square Park & Amphitheater. The published program includes the Monster Mash House Band, a laser light show and local food vendors, and the event is free.

For families with young children it is a low-pressure way to celebrate Halloween without leaving town, and Town Square Park gives it a compact, walkable setting.

Murrieta Veterans Day Parade & Field of Honor

Murrieta's 24th Annual Veterans Day Parade takes place on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at 10 AM in Downtown Murrieta. The route runs from Washington Avenue and Ivy Street to Town Square Park.

In the days before, the 18th annual Field of Honor flag display honoring local heroes is scheduled to be on view at Town Square Park from November 7 through November 15, 2026. It is a meaningful stop on its own and a good excuse to walk the downtown.

Christmas in the Park and Winter Programming

The City previews its special events calendar from October through December, including holiday programming in and around Town Square Park. As of this writing the City had not yet published specific Christmas in the Park dates for 2026, so check the City of Murrieta Special Events page for the updated schedule.

Why Events Matter When You're House Hunting

Community events tell you more about a town than a map of homes ever will. They show you the walkability of the downtown, the quality of the parks and the type of people who show up.

If you are comparing neighborhoods in Southwest Riverside County, we often suggest spending part of a Market Nights or a Town Square event in the areas you are considering. It is the same reason we point buyers to our guide to Murrieta's parks, trails and community life before they make a decision.
